[13 October 2012 : In My Grandmother's Home]

 

Rejoice! Yes! Thank You Jesus! My grandmother told me this morning as I was worshipping the Lord with my keyboard at home that she believed in Jesus! I thought I was dreaming because I was ministering to her for 3 years but she ignored and avoided this topic. But now, she told me that she was praying for a change in the family. She saw the vast transformation in me; she saw how I trusted Jesus and how He changed my life!

 

I cannot believe my ears when she told me to dispose the Buddhist Taoist praying beads I bought her 8 years ago (when I was still a Buddhist). It was really hard when I shared Jesus with her in the beginning because she tends to give negative comments. But I endured the process and continue to pray and trust God that He will intervene in this matter. Sure enough, this Saturday morning, she told me that she wants to learn to pray to Jesus.

 

Praise God! Hallelujah! God heard my prayers and my grandmother is now saved. The process may take a long time but I persevered and endured till the end. So brothers and sisters in Christ, hold on - for God knows what He doing and in His time, all will be well.

Last night, in my quiet moments, on my keyboard, when I wait with an expectant and listening heart, the Lord came to me. All of a sudden, I was weeping and I recognized His influence in my everyday life. He has truly ordered my steps for the plan He has for me. I was crying non-stop, praising Him, calling out to Him and deep within my heart, I knew that I must not stop doing this : "I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works".

Dear Heavenly Father,
O Lord of Creation, Your Word is so direct and powerful, and it touches and then reaches down and opens up my spirit so that it rises to You. I want to draw closer to Your love, so that I may feel its warmth and comfort. O Father, now I see that You are the One who meets my every need, and give every good instruction. I do not need to tell You that I do not know which way to turn to, because I can turn to You and find rest, security, guidance, truth, and glorious life, which will equip me for every work.

"God Heard My Prayers Even Before I Accepted Christ"

Before I accepted Christ, I was a staunch Buddhist and I have never been to a church. My dad was luckier than me because most of his friends and colleagues are Christians and sometimes they would invite my dad to their church for Sunday service.

I have accepted Christ 5 years ago (since the year 2007) and I am the only Christian in my family at the moment. But I fully trust and have faith in the Lord that my family will all be saved because He has already given me the wisdom to minister to my parents and my grandmother – Praise The Lord! Hallelujah! Well, the story here is actually about how God heard my prayers even before I accepted Christ.

Our God is a good God and it all happened when my dad’s friend invited him to a Christmas Eve concert in a church. I was only 6 years old back then when my dad took me to a church for the first time and we were both seated at the front row. It was also that night I was moved by the Holy Spirit; I saw everything white and cloudy on the stage and I was also captivated by the pianist when she rendered a beautiful melody. As I was so into the music and the drama (that night the drama was about Jesus performing miracles and how prayers can do wonders for those who believed in Him), suddenly I put my hands together and said a short prayer like this : Jesus, You are so great! How I wish I could play the piano like the pianist on the stage – Yes! I want to play like her for You!

Everyone needs help in order to grow as a Christian. Becoming more like Jesus takes wisdom, stability, and love way beyond our ability. The Bible tells us how we should live - but instructions alone are not enough.

 

When you first tried to ride a bicycle, no one expected you to do it simply by reading the instruction manual. You needed someone to help you. Maybe your father showed you how everything worked. Watching him ride made it look simple, but when you tried imitating him, you lost control and fell, then became discouraged.

 

What really made a difference was when he came alongside and helped you stay balamced. He placed you on the bicycle and held it steady. As you picked up speed, he kept you from losing control by placing his hand firmly on the seat and running alongside you - encouraging, correcting, and supporting you as you gained confidence.

 

This is true of the Christian life too. Jesus said He would not leave us alone as orphans. He knew we needed help, so He sent us a Helper - the Holy Spirit. He is like the father who comes alongside, and His presence enables us to do what we cannot do alone.

We are Jesus' modern-day disciples. There is still time to grow the kingdom. The Lord will make the divine appointments. We just need to show up, reach out, and open up - Jesus will do the rest.

We can have hope because God is guiding us with a loving hand. Even when we suffer, there is a purpose to the suffering. The hardships are there for a reason. And when we understand that God is behind them, contentment can be ours. They are only temporary. We're going to a better place. That's the big picture - God's big picture!

There are many temptations in the world and many opportunities to stray from God. But remember, you don't have to compromise in order to belong - for you are a part of the body of Christ.

Have you ever feared that someone would stop loving you? Not only have I feared it, I've experienced it! God has carefully and graciously allowed some of my fears to come true so that I would discover that I would not disintergrate. God taught me to survive on His unfailing love. It wasn't fun, but it was transforming.

The only thing I absolutely could not survive is the loss of God's love, and that is the loss I will never have to endure. His love "endures forever".

Jesus promised His disciples that after His death, He would send them a Comforter and a Guide. As a child of God, He has put His Holy Spirit inside you. As you read God's Word, He makes it come alive. It might be a verse you have read dozens of time before, but at a time you need it most, the Holy Spirit will make it jump off the page.

 

Wisdom is yours for the taking. Honor God, meditate on His Word, and obey whatever He asks you to do. And as you read the Bible, invite the Holy Spirit to guide you daily into all truth.

God wants to change us to the point where we see Christ when we look at our lives. He is transforming us one step at a time. Every little opportunity to display His glory, every little bump in the road of life, equals an opportunity to change.

God didn't drop down into your life, forgive you, save you, and move on to someone else. He came to stay. He started something, and He's not stopping it until the very last day that you're on this earth.

Love is something we can't see, but we can see the evidence of love in the action it produces, which is giving. You can give without loving, but you can't love without giving. When you love you will give of your time, you will give of yourself, and you will give of your resources. Those who truly love, hold nothing back. The measure of your giving reveals the measure of your love.

If you love someone you will also give them forgiveness. Love causes you to be merciful, understanding, and forgiving.

There are many people in each of our lives who need and deserve our love. Jesus Christ is the most deserving of all!

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

We step right out with recognition of God in some things, then self-consideration enters our lives and down we go. If you are truly recognizing your Lord, you have no business being concerned about how and where He engineers your circumstances. The things surrounding you are real, but when you look at them, you are immediately overwhelmed, and even unable to recognize Jesus. Let your actual circumstances be what they may, but keep recognizing Jesus, maintaining complete reliance upon Him.

For those of us who have been rescued by Jesus, the best world is yet to come. The world where comfort and peace will reign in unhindered joy forever! And in that day, God will make all things new and show us how all things worked together for good. We may hold back from asking because we think we don't deserve good things. Probably true! But Jesus deserves good and He died so we could receive what He deserves. Jesus took what we deserved so we could have better.

God is helping me understand being guided by the inner witness, which is a knowing communicated by the Holy Spirit to our spirit. God has a plan for guiding His children in all the questions of life, through the witness of the spirit - "peace".

As a child of God in union with Jesus Christ, you have authority over every work of the enemy and everything that would harm you. Because you have been given authority, you have to use it.

You are supposed to choose what you allow in your life. But most of us, out of ignorance, thought our only choice was to just accept whatever happened. We didn't know any better. But now we are learning. So we can make new choices, and see better results.

So brothers and sisters in Christ, speak directly to your problems and tell them what to do because God gave you authority through Jesus Christ.

Nothing happens without His knowledge and permission. When you feel like running away, run to God. He will restore justice and goodness on the earth in His good time.

To break the leg of a poor, defenseless sheep seems almost vicious - unless you understand the shepherd's heart. Then you will realize that what seems to be cruelty is really kindness. The shepherd knows that the sheep must remain close to Him if it is to be protected from danger. So he breaks the leg - not to hurt it but to restore it.

Through our losses, He can use us for greater purposes and bring Himself greater glory.
